Clicking the Ruby Slippers!

Cautiously optimistic that JT will be released on Monday to continue his recovery in the comfort of home sweet home! Blood counts have continued to rise over the last couple of days and if we can persuade him to eat and drink then they will let him go. It’s still too early to test the bone marrow to see if it is Sydney’s blood running around and as his counts grow so does the risk of GVHD (Graft Versus Host Disease). Keep those prayers coming, our gracious God is listening to every one of you!  Have a great weekend.

  2. I am sure he will be glad to be home. Still saying our prayers for JT nightly. You always have such a positive outlook that has to help too. Sending a big hug.

  4. How is it going with the food? We had a kid get out on Tuesday because he drank the Pediasure. Our Alex wouldn't touch it; we were lucky our homeopath also does nutrition. She made him great food then put it in the blender.
My current prayer joke for us: "God is getting so many, some are hitting his spam filter". Our communities thoughts and prayers are what keeps us walking the hospital halls, remembering to eat on those days, and generally keep us from getting "hospital psychosis".
    Best of luck,

  5. John,

JT doesn't touch any of that liquid stuff either! What are your docs saying about frozen fruit? The first go around, it was allowed and this time they said "no". I make a mean smoothie that he likes, but it involves the frozen berries.

He's eating a little and holding his (-10lb) weight right now, but on liquids at night via his CVL. He's got some GVHD in his gut so its hard for him to stomach anything. Sometimes I "wonder" about the BMT diet...

Keep in touch. My email is shw3262@comcast.net if you want to talk off this wall.
